Personally, I'd tell any instrument to change to alto sax, but in this case I really don't think it will mess you up too bad. If it does, you can always stop.

Yea it's crazy going 7 months with no marching band...Although for me, I've already decided to try out for Cadets '10 because I love drum corps/band so much.

You're right! for a first year show, that's excellent! If you're happy with your personal show, that's all that matters. Last night at championships, I had the best show of all my 4 years, and I wasn't going to care what place we came in because I knew it was something out of my control! granted, there were only 11 competing bands in our class, but it's the same concept. :D
