I'm a college band nerd, who plays piccolo/flute. I am beginning my 10th season of marching band (6th at the college level), and will be graduating with a masters degree in engineering at the end of the next spring.

I enjoy watching DCI even though I could never be a part of it.

As far as how I judge shows, I really want a show that keeps my attention. Also, as this is a computerized marching program, I score higher shows that take advantage of the perfect marchers to get great affects. When shows have moves that people fold over themselves on, the highest score I will award is a 6. If things are just way too close for the animated marchers (even if people on a field can get it using curved paths), the highest score I will award is an 8. You know the limitations of the software... use it to your advantage.
